Club Log will block you if…

Club Log is a high profile web site, and generally gets plenty of attention from miscreants. As a result, it has a very defensive firewall in place.

This firewall is triggered by behaviour that isn’t consistent with a normal user of Club Log, and blocks the originator’s IP address for an extended period of time.

It is common for logging software to trigger this firewall if it’s been misconfigured for real-time logging. For example, using an old password which you forgot to update, but leaving real-time uploads enabled, will block your IP address from using Club Log.

I suspect many folk think that when this happens, it might be that Club Log is either too busy or temporarily offline. If you want to check, you can see if Club Log is ‘up’ anytime, here: https://status.clublog.org.

If you think Club Log is blocking you, and are not sure where to start looking, there is further documentation here: https://clublog.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/3000118794-help-club-log-is-blocking-my-ip-address
